Why this is not a list of PSA 10 prices

The 10 price is the headline and the wrong number to plan around. What matters is the average submission value: each grade’s price weighted by how often this card actually comes back at that grade. The population report gives those odds, so a card where only 6% of copies gem is valued on the 94% as well.

Anything below a 7 is valued at the ungraded card, which is generous to grading, since a low slab usually trades under the loose copy. Cards whose priced grades cover less than 60% of submissions are left out rather than guessed at, and so are cards with fewer than 20 graded copies, where the odds are noise.

The cost side is the ungraded card plus PSA's fee and $20 of postage both ways. Their service level is gated on what the card is worth, from $79.99 at Regular up to $4,999 and beyond, so an expensive card costs more to grade before it earns anything. The same arithmetic runs on every card page against the copy in your own hands, including the part this list cannot see: whether your card is actually near mint.
